Volunteers
Volunteers contribute to the success of the Home.
We accept relatives, friends, and students from within our surrounding community to come into our Home and support and build relationships with our residents. Family pets are encouraged to visit the Home providing the pet has been properly vaccinated, housebroken and leashed.
We involve residents in the local community, by inviting community groups, schools, centres and agencies to visit the Home. Also we plan many community outings. Volunteers are always needed to help organize programs and provide individual services.
Your first step is to download the Volunteer Application form and submit the completed form to the Programs Manager at Wellington Park Care Centre. You will then be contacted to book an interview where we will discuss your needs and the volunteer opportunities that are available.

Student Volunteer Program: (16 Years of Age or Older)
Join our team and gain valuable work experience! Student volunteers generally work 1-3 hours per week as their school work permits. Good communication skills, commitment and teamwork are essential skills to a volunteer.
Students must be at least 16 years old to apply as a volunteer and are required to make a commitment to their program choice. Wellington Park Care Centre offers student volunteers placements during the school year or during the summer. Please download the application form and submit the form to the Programs Manager. Student Volunteers will also need to complete a 2-step Mantoux (TB) Test or a chest x-ray as per physician’s direction. If there is documentation that the student volunteer has previously received a 2-Step Mantoux test in the past, then the Student Volunteer only requires to complete a 1-Step Mantoux test prior to the commencement of your placement.
